FEATURED PRESENTER

Cathy Hietala, Vice President of Operations – Minnesota Branch

I wake up every morning with a great passion to help women reach their financial aspirations. My mission is to assist my clients in achieving key financial goals: *Adequate planning during our working years is key. Women face a unique set of challenges that many men do not face. We need to know what they are and plan for them. *Create a defined retirement plan to overcome obstacles. Many women live alone in retirement. Women need to achieve stability and financial independence in their retirement whether you plan to be with a special someone or alone. We don’t know what the future holds. Let’s be ready! Having raised two wonderful boys on my own while being a sole care giver for my Mother with cancer until her passing, has given me not only strength, but understanding of life's struggles. This has set forth the opportunity for me to assist others in preparing for and navigating life's changes financially.

Derk Karl Schwieger, J.D., LL.M. Attorney & Counselor at Law

Derk is an estate planning and probate attorney with advanced tax training. He will discuss how to avoid probate and estate taxes, and how retirement issues intersect with Medical Assistance and income taxes.
